Excerpt from Phoenix Business Journal Article 3/7/2022 – As the nation’s economy bounces back from two years of pandemic-induced slowdowns, many companies find themselves in dire need of talented executive leadership. Those individuals with the talent may be getting very good deals, according to several representatives of Phoenix-area executive search firms.

When the Phoenix Business Journal conducted its annual survey for the 2022 Executive Search Firms list, they included a few optional questions.

Q. Have executives’ salaries increased during the pandemic because of the talent shortage? How are you advising companies to handle the highly competitive nature of hiring right now? — Phoenix Business Journal

A. “There is no talent shortage. This should not be confused with the competitive nature of recruiting right now. Highly qualified and desirable candidates have many choices and are eager to negotiate employment terms including compensation, freedom to work remotely at least part of the time, and other typical executive perquisites.” — Marti Cizek, president, Cizek Associates Inc.
